Thoughtful Banners for WWYS #97

Hello and welcome! I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.  Our very first What Will You Stamp? Challenge for 2017 is to create using the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set. This set coordinates with the Duet Banner Punch and is very useful for putting together your own message as there are LOTS of words and phrases. The stamp set and punch are available to purchase as a bundle.

Item # 142330 – Thoughtful Banners Photopolymer Bundle

I decided to do a sentiment background and chose Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate as my colours.

I had a strip with the negative from a project I had made using the Flourish Thinlits so I knew I wanted to incorporate that piece into my design. I also wanted to try out the new Lift Me Up bundle. So I decided on a graduation card for this project.

I stamped rows of the sentiment in Smoky Slate and one in Mint Macaron as a highlight. I then simply adhered the balloons, the banner and scattered some metallic stars.

Tip: You can often save and use the negative pieces from diecuts to use on another project, saving cardstock and giving you extra elements for another card.

If you like this colour combo, feel free to share and pin it. You can find more on my Pinterest colour inspiration board.

Flurry of Wishes Card for WWYS #95

Hello! and welcome to this week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge. This week we’re designing with the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set. You can purchase the stamp set and coordinating Snow Flurry Punch and Flower Medallion Punch.

Item # 139680: Snow Flurry Punch and Item # 137417 Flower Medallion Punch

It’s hard to see in the picture, but I started by adding some glitter snowflakes using Heat and Stick powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Some more snowflakes were clear heat embossed in Soft Sky ink and then a good spattering of Pacific Point ink followed. The large snowflake was clear heat embossed in Pacific Point ink and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch and popped up on dimensionals.

I added some washi tape from the Floral Boutique suite before adding the Night of Navy clear embossed sentiment onto a banner and attached with dimensionals. The card was finished off with some of the Soft Sky coloured sequins from the Fancy Frost sequins pack.

I decorated the inside of the card with the coordinating sentiment, some more Pacific Point splatters, a strip of Floral Boutique washi tape and a small snowflake clear embossed over Soft Sky ink and punched out with the Snow Flurry Punch.

If you like this colour combo, feel free to share and pin it. You can find more on my Pinterest colour inspiration board.

Teeny Tiny Sentiments for WWYS #91

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set. I have always adored this set. It has so many cute greetings for many different occasions. I’ve used two in today’s project. Here’s the stamp set pic:

91-teeny-tiny-sentiments

Note: The stamp set varies by name and content depending on where you are. In Australia, it’s called Teeny Tiny Sentiments and doesn’t have the Thanksgiving and Halloween greetings; in the US it’s called Teeny Tiny Wishes and doesn’t include the greetings “miss you so much” and “congratulations”.

I paired the sweet little sentiments with the Fancy Frost Suite from the Holiday Catalogue, using Sweet Sugarplum, Soft Sky and Whisper White – non-traditional Christmas colours. I love that!

teeny-tiny-sentiments-1

TIP: You can change the look of an image by selectively colouring parts with Stampin’ Write Markers. In the medallion image on the card, I inked up the image using a Soft Sky ink pad then used my Sweet Sugarplum marker to colour the centre flower and some of the “leaves”.

The box was made with the Popcorn Box Thinlits (it’s not just for popcorn!) and the tag is from the Merry Tags Framelits Dies. I also added some mini jingle bells – they’re so adorable!

teeny-tiny-sentiments-3

The falling snow image used on both the box and the card is from the Merriest Wishes Stamps Set. Using the same stamps on both pieces ties them together. I also added the smallest stitched die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to back the sentiment. These projects were quick and easy and so much fun to make!

Rainbow Card Using Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set for WWYS #87

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set. I have to admit, I avoided using this set because there are 101 (yep! 101) stamps in this set and the thought of losing one of those little buggers kinda freaked me out! But I was very careful to put each one back in the case after I’d used it, so it’s all good. 🙂

Here’s the stamp set pic:

87-labeler-alphabet

I started with the idea of using an inspirational phrase for this card so browsed Google and found the words you see on the front of the card. So then the rainbow became the focal point. This was made simply using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies in “a rainbow” of cardstock colours. The words were stamped on three of the these colours to tie in with the rebus image. I added some Wink of Stella to the Smoky Slate raindrops from the Weather Together Stamp Set. It was a very simple card to put together but I think you’ll agree it packs a punch. Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment.

Peachy Thank You Card for GDP058

It seems like ages since I’ve joined the Global Design Project Challenge and I really like the sketch for this week.

gdp058

My card for the challenge highlights the gorgeous Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. Don’t forget you can get it free this month with the Buy 3 Get 1 Free DSP offer.

peachy-thank-you-card-1

I’ve used the co-ordinating Fresh Fruit Stamp Set for the sentiment and the outline around the peach. The peach was simply fussy cut from the DSP. So easy!

TIP: If your DSP has horizontal or vertical lines and you want diagonal ones – no problem. Just cut the paper on the diagonal as I’ve done here.

The scalloped detail on the focal piece was achieved using the top of the Best Badge punch.

peachy-thank-you-card-2

I’ve finished the inside off simply with a 1cm strip of the striped DSP.

iph Welcome to our International Project Highlights visual blog hop using current Stampin’ Up!® Products. We have all created this gallery of projects for you to be inspired by! We would love it if you could visit every one of our blogs and see a close up of our projects. You can see the gallery below and this will be on every blog that you click on so you will never be lost.

international-project-highlights-1 I needed to make an engagement card and took inspiration from the amazingly talented Teneale Williams for this one. It has a simple, elegant feel, using Elegant Eggplant for the card base with silver accents. The focal point is the stacked heart. The top layer is Silver Glimmer paper but the layers underneath are cut from Whisper White and SMOTHERED in silver glitter on the edges. I love the 3D effect this technique gives.

international-project-highlights-2 I also kept the inside simple with a strip of Silver Glimmer and a row of hearts underneath the sentiment. Both sentiments were stamped with Elegant Eggplant and clear embossed. Thanks for visiting my blog today, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. We know that you will love our gallery of projects made by Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators around the world!

Swirly Birds Pinwheel Card

Hi and welcome!  Today I’m participating in a Crazy Crafters blog hop with special guest Jennifer Michalski. We get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) one of Jennifer’s projects. Here’s my project:

Swirly Birds Pinwheel Card-1

We’re thrilled that Jennifer is our guest for this hop.  Thank you Jennifer!

Today’s hop is a Crazy Crafters team effort. They’re a crazy talented bunch too, so make sure you visit them all!

Here’s the card that inspired me.

IMG_20160809_121257

My 17 year old daughter recently went to the Brisbane Ekka (Exhibition) with some friends, and she brought a pinwheel home with her. It brought back fond memories of my visits to the Ekka as a kid, so when I saw Jennifer’s card I couldn’t resist the chance to CASE it!

I loved the bright gelato colours Jennifer used and the happy tone of her card. I wanted to try a 3D look with the pinwheels and also changed the colours. I added the little swirl image from Swirly Birds stamp set as the background, along with some washi tape.  The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings stamp set.

Crazy Crafters Team Projects

It’s Friday and that means it’s time for our weekly Team Projects Highlight! Yay!  To see what everyone has made this week and to vote for your 3 favourites, click on the banner above.

I have to tell you today’s project was borne of necessity. As a lot of us do, I have a planner that I use to keep track of all my Stampin’ Up! tasks and events. I found it very painful finding the page for the current week every time I wanted to use it – sooooo – as any crafter would do – I made a “page keeper” or bookmark!

Good Vibes-Labeler Alphabet-1

I decided to do a card to accompany this project as I think it would make a super gift to give to a friend who also uses a planner or maybe is an avid reader. Aren’t these adorable?! Oh my gosh, I think the little emoji stamp from the Project Life Good Vibes Accessory Pack is just so cute!

Good Vibes Accessory Pack

And you can design your own sentiment with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set – it’s so versatile.  Thank you Stampin’ Up!

Labeler Alphabet SS

I used some of the beautiful gold foiled paper from the Pop of Pink DSP pack and stamped the emoji image.  The smiley face at the top comes from the Project Life Paper Clips Thinlits. I’ve added some magnetic strips at the bottom to hold it closed.

Good Vibes-Labeler Alphabet-4

Of course I had to add some googly eyes to the smiley face!

Jar of Love for WWYS #73

This week’s WWYS Challenge stamp set is Jar of Love.  This set is simply adorable.  Besides flowers, you can fill your jar with fireflies, goldfish, or as I chose to do, with confetti.  You could also fill them with images from other stamp sets too.  I’ve seen jars with fairies and frogs to name a couple.  This is a big set with lots of images, giving you lots of creative options.

#73 Jar of Love

And here’s the card I created:

Jar of Love-1

As you can see, my design is totally inspired by the sentiment.  I’ve used some washi tape from the Pop of Pink and Affectionately Yours packs along the bottom of the panel.  I’ve also used the new Layering Circles Framelits set for the sentiment.  A little bit of copper heat-embossing adds some pizzazz and we’re done!  A simple, quick and fun card.  🙂

Head on over to the What Will You Stamp blog to see what our other talented designers have created with this stamp set.  And why not enter your own design?  You could be chosen as our winner and get to be a guest stamper!  How exciting!
