Happy Easter everyone! It rained here in Brisbane last night and we woke up to an overcast day, so we had an indoor Easter egg hunt this morning. I hope you’re all enjoying your Easter break wherever you are. So onto today’s project – an Easter card of course!
I’ve paired that adorable chick from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set (which I stamped once with Basic Black Archival ink, masked, then stamped twice more) with some beautiful DSP from the It’s My Party stack. I stamped the chick again on Whisper White, watercoloured it with a mix of So Saffron, Crushed Curry and Hello Honey inks for the body and Tangelo Twist for the beak and feet, fussy cut it and adhered it with dimensionals.
The sentiment I’ve used comes from one of my much loved and oft used stamp sets, Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I hope this one doesn’t retire for a while! Doesn’t it look super cute enclosed in the banner from the Project Life Moments Like These stamp set? Love it! I backed that with some Crushed Curry and used the Washi Label punch to clip the ends. I felt that the Burlap ribbon would suit the “country” style of this card best, so I included it at the top (I just cut a narrow strip) and the bottom, where I pulled some threads to give it a bit more texture and interest. I added a 4-thread bow of linen thread at the top to finish it off. What do you think? Here’s the card with a visual of all the products used:
This was a really fun card to put together, and I hope I’ve inspired you to get more out of your ribbons and trims by doing something different and unusual with them.
