Tropical Panorama Using Seaside Shore for WWYS #121

Hello and welcome to this week’s Challenge at What Will You Stamp? This week we’re playing with Seaside Shore. What a fun set this is! I had a ball creating what I’m calling my “tropical panorama”.

I went all out and created a net for my little fish. Aren’t they adorable? I also got to test out an exciting new product – Stampin’ Up! now has embossing paste! Woohoo! It’s really fun and just what I needed for my “sand”.

Here’s a couple of close-ups:

TIP: To make flowers (or in this case, fish) look puffy and more 3D, turn them face down on your Stampin’ Pierce Mat and use an embossing tool like the one that comes with the scoreboard, or as I did here, the top of my Piercing Tool. Rub in a gentle circular motion until you’re happy with the result.

Thanks for visiting my blog. If you’ve left me a comment, thank you! You’ve made my day. Be sure to hop on over to the WWYS blog to see what everyone else has made and enter your own project. You could be our next guest designer!

Flourishing Phrases Hello Card

posted in: Cards, Hello | 2

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share a card with you that I made a little while ago but didn’t get to blog. It uses the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set. This set is very versatile; although it has only 3 images, it has loads of sentiments for a variety of occasions, and when paired with the Flourish Thinlits Dies (which you can purchase as a bundle) there’s no limit to the designs you could come up with. I love that!

I didn’t use the thinlits on this occasion though. Instead I used just two images to make a background and created some shading using sponge daubers. The colours I chose were Watermelon Wonder and Peekaboo Peach for the flowers and Cucumber Crush and Wild Wasabi for the leaves.

The stamped layer has been popped up with dimensionals over another Whisper White panel to which I adhered some Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped Ribbon, and then the whole panel is adhered to a Whisper White Thick card base.

I’ve layered the sentiment up with plain and scalloped ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and a few scattered rhinestones finishes this quick and easy card off.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you’ve left me a comment, thank you! You’ve made my day.

Totally Trees (Without the Trees) Card for WWYS #88

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Totally Trees Stamp Set. You may notice however, my card has no trees! Those of you who follow my blog know that I like to discover different ways to use stamp sets, so my main goal with this stamp set was not to use any tree images to show it’s versatility. Here’s the stamp set pic:

88-totally-trees I’ve used a technique I call ink blending (if there is another name for it, please let me know!). I just half-mixed some different colours on an acrylic block and used it to ink my stamp up. I love the effect and the possibilities are endless! The sentiment comes from the Badges & Banners Stamp Set (cropped using the Best Badge Punch) and suits the fun style of this card.

TIP: For a quick and easy accent, use narrow strips of cardstock. I’ve used one top and bottom here to add extra interest.

And I decorated the inside with the little image that looks like a group of bubbles.

Remember to check out all the beautiful inspiration over at the WWYS Challenge blog.

This was a fun and easy card to make. If you like the colour combination, click on the picture above to see more colour snapshots.

Swirly Birds Pinwheel Card

Hi and welcome!  Today I’m participating in a Crazy Crafters blog hop with special guest Jennifer Michalski. We get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) one of Jennifer’s projects. Here’s my project:

Swirly Birds Pinwheel Card-1

We’re thrilled that Jennifer is our guest for this hop.  Thank you Jennifer!

Today’s hop is a Crazy Crafters team effort. They’re a crazy talented bunch too, so make sure you visit them all!

CCBH w Jennifer Michalski

Here’s the card that inspired me.

My 17 year old daughter recently went to the Brisbane Ekka (Exhibition) with some friends, and she brought a pinwheel home with her. It brought back fond memories of my visits to the Ekka as a kid, so when I saw Jennifer’s card I couldn’t resist the chance to CASE it!

I loved the bright gelato colours Jennifer used and the happy tone of her card. I wanted to try a 3D look with the pinwheels and also changed the colours. I added the little swirl image from Swirly Birds stamp set as the background, along with some washi tape.  The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings stamp set.

To continue on the hop and see all the fabulous projects from Jennifer and the rest of the Crazy Crafters team, click on the person after me – Gail Davidson – in this list below.

If you like this colour combination, please feel free to save and share it.  You can find more inspiration on my Pinterest Colour Inspiration Board.

Tap Tap Tap Hello Card

My card for this week’s WWYS Challenge Blog featuring the Tap Tap Tap Stamp Set (currently on the Retiring List ending 31 May 2016) highlights one of the new In Colours, Peekaboo Peach. I still don’t have a firm favourite yet – I love them all!  How about you?  We’d love it if you’d play along with us this week, and check out the wonderful inspiration provided by the other Design Team members.  Here’s an image of the stamp set we’re using this week.

And here’s my card:

Tap Tap Tap Card-1

The design is pretty simple, with a watercolour wash in Peekaboo Peach and Crumb Cake along with some watercolouring/shading on the typewriter.  I ruffled the ruched ribbon (say that 10 times fast!) to add a little somethin’ somethin’ and I think it looks so cute.

I’m really excited for the release of the new catalogue – only two more sleeps!  Woot! Woot!  You can start ordering here after 3am on June 1st.

If you need a catalogue, you can send me a request and I’ll get one out to you pronto! (Australian residents only)

If you like this colour combination, please feel free to save and share it.  You can find more inspiration on my Pinterest Colour Inspiration Board.
