Label Me Pretty Cookie Pouch for WWYS #126

Don’t you just love a quick and easy project – and one that contains yummy stuff?! This week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge project is just that. The stamp set we’re showcasing this week is Label Me Pretty. I’ve seen these pouches all over the place (there’s even one in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue on page 30), so I thought it was about time I made one. And the Label Me Pretty stamp set is perfect for it.

I’m not usually one for adding a lot of embellishments, but this project could take it, and I had so much fun! And there’s so much scope for mixing and matching with Stampin’ Up! products. 🙂

I chose a sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Pick a Pattern pack because the checks are kind of “country kitchen” and it had mushrooms (food) on it.

So I added to the country feel with some Burlap Ribbon, Linen Thread and a couple of hearts.

Thanks for visiting my blog. If you’ve left me a comment, thank you! You’ve made my day. Be sure to hop on over to the WWYS blog to see what everyone else has made and enter your own project. You could be our next guest designer!

Here For You Card for WWYS #107

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge. We’re playing with the Here For You Stamp Set this week. Yeah I just couldn’t resist! With a sentiment that says “Well, this just stinks” …

What else can you make?! I started out with a Crumb Cake notecard, added splatters in Soft Suede, then some grass from the Wetlands Stamp Set, cut the “poop” out with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits, using the image from the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set, and stamped a couple of flies from the Beetles & Bugs Stamp Set. I added some odour fumes too!

“That” sentiment was white heat embossed on a strip of Early Espresso and popped up over some washi tape from the Moroccan suite. To finish off I tied some black baker’s twine around and stamped a coordinating sentiment inside. I also stamped some more flies on the envelope.

Thanks for visiting my blog. If you’ve left me a comment, thank you! You’ve made my day. Be sure to hop on over to the WWYS blog to see what everyone else has made and enter your own project. You could be our next guest designer!

You’re Sublime for WWYS #72

This week’s WWYS Challenge stamp set is You’re Sublime.  This set is so sweet – I love all the images.  I chose to use the submarine to emphasise the SUBlime.  LOL

You're Sublime

And here’s my card:

You're Sublime Card-1

I’ve used the wave-like die from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Die set for the sea.  I cut one from Pool Party coloured vellum and one from Pacific Point cardstock.  The sub was coloured with markers in Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie (that’s a lot of P’s!)  The sea, bubbles and fish had some Clear Wink of Stella applied to make them glisten.  And that’s it!

Head on over to the What Will You Stamp blog to see what our other talented designers have created with this stamp set.  And why not enter your own design?  You could be chosen as our winner and get to be a guest stamper!  How exciting!

If you like this colour combination, please feel free to save and share it.  You can find more inspiration on my Pinterest Colour Inspiration Board.

We are all casing one of Tracy’s creations, and this is the one I chose:

Touches of Texture SS
Touches of Texture Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!®

I love Tracy’s design with THAT flower (Wow!) and the splatters, so I chose to use Crumb Cake, copper and black for my card:

Touches of Texture-1

I framed the focal image with some Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP.  The sentiment is from the Hostess stamp set Basket for You.

Touches of Texture-2 Touches of Texture-3

Thanks for stopping by today.  You’re with me, Gail Davidson (aka GaGa Papercrafts) at the moment; to continue on the hop, click on the name below mine in the list below.

Our challenge stamp set this week over at WWYS is Falling Flowers. Love, love, love this stamp set!

#71 Falling Flowers

And here’s what I created:

Falling Flowers Card-1

This was the first time I played with this set and I just adore it.  I also love to use black and white.  The look you get is classic and clean.  The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set – such a versatile set for many occasions and I love this particular sentiment.

Head on over to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog for lots of inspiration using this stamp set.

Rose Wonder Thank You Gift Set for GDP027

posted in: Cards, Other, Uncategorized | 4

I just love making handmade boxes to go with handmade cards. It’s so nice to give a gift to say “thank you”, whether it be a friend, a family member, or a work colleague. And it’s doubly nice because people appreciate the time and love that goes into a handcrafted gift. I get a kick out of it. So today’s gift set will be going out to a very special person, but I can’t tell you who yet – I’ll have to do a post update later as they haven’t received it yet! This set is also my entry into this week’s Global Design Project challenge, the theme being “thank you”. There are already loads of amazing projects entered this week, so make sure you go and check them out. Just click on the image below.

And here’s my little gift set:

The dinky little box has a flush fitting lid and is lined inside so you can’t see any tabs – wonderful!  The box was designed by an uber talented paper crafter from the UK – Caroline from Crafty Caroline Creates.  Click here to see Caroline’s version and video tutorial.  Thanks Caroline!

My clever readers out there would recognise that all five of the products on the Weekly Deals list this week have been used in this project – but only until this Wednesday – eeek!  Better hurry if you want to grab a bargain!   Yes, I was going to post this project as a Weekly Deals Wednesday project, but time just got away from me.  Check out the Weekly Deals in the sidebar and click on them there to buy, or you’ll also find them by clicking on Special Offers in the main menu at the top of this page and selecting Weekly Deals from the dropdown list.

Just on that note, I also wanted to let you know that the 2014-2016 In Colours, of which Lost Lagoon is one, will sadly be retiring at the end of May.  Although Stampin’ Up! may incorporate any of these colours into the Colour Collections, we have no way of knowing this until the new catalogue is released in June.  So if you want any of the products in these colours, please get in quick, as they are the first to sell out when the retiring list is released.

Getting back to my project, the “thank you” comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set which you’ll find in the Occasions Catalogue.  I love this font!  It’s casual, like handwriting and is perfect for a handmade gift.  I’ve repeated it on the top of the box as well as on the sweet little 3 x 3 card.  The butterfly on the box is from the Bold Butterfly Framelits dies and the small butterfly is punched using the Bitty Butterfly punch.  The gold pearl accents were coloured using a Sharpie.

I hope you like my project (and I hope the recipient is going to love it too!).  And I hope I’ve inspired you to give a little love and thanks to those in your life who deserve it.  🙂  Thanks for stopping by today.

UPDATE:  I promised an update as the recipient of this gift set had not received it at the time of posting.  I’m pleased to say that Kylie, my fearless team leader, has now received the gift – it had two little handmade soaps inside – and she was thrilled.  You can see her post here.  The Crazy Crafters team actively participates in Kylie’s #imbringingRAKcardsback campaign.  RAK means Random Act of Kindness and we’re on a mission to share the kindness through the giving and receiving of handmade cards to people all over the globe.  You can participate too; you’ll find the link to put your name down in Kylie’s post.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop and CASEing Allison Okamitsu

posted in: Cards, Other | 38

CCBH w Allison OkamitsuWelcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our Special Guest stamper Allison Okamitsu. This month we are excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Allison.  We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Gail Davidson, or may have come from the person previous to me.  Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.  We are thrilled that Allison said yes to playing along with the Crazy Crafters this month.

I chose to CASE this card from Allison:

Two things I love about Allison’s card are how she has used only the outline of the flower image and heat embossed the sentiment.  I love the idea of just using the outline image of the bloom from the What I Love stamp set.  Even though there are two more stamps you can use to add shading to this image, I think it looks just as good using just one.  It’s a very versatile set.  You can still earn this stamp set for free when you spend $90 on any current catalogue products, but only until March 31, so get in quick!

What I Love

The other thing I love about Allison’s card is “that” sentiment!  Isn’t it just gorgeous?!  It’s big, bold and casual – and really good for letting someone know how special they are, don’t you think?  The Botanicals For You stamp set – another one you can earn free with a $90 purchase until March 31.

Botanicals for You

So here’s my take on Allison’s card:

I switched up the colour to Real Red card stock (which I just adore!).  I kept the white embossed sentiment and the single layer outline image of the flower, but I  “painted” them with bleach to pull some of the colour out of the card stock.  This gives the illusion of shading, but is much quicker than laying colour down.  I heat embossed them in black first as I didn’t want to risk the outline being faded by the bleach.  I left the parts of the flower where you would normally see a shadow and just applied the bleach to the parts of the petals that I wanted to appear lighter.  I also added a dash of clear Wink of Stella to the centre of the flowers.

The sentiment I used on the inside of the card comes from the Botanicals For You stamp set and is so versatile too.  You could use this for any occasion that is special to the recipient.  Gotta love that!

I hope I’ve inspired you to try this technique and just have fun with it.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Remember to click on the next person after me (Gail Davidson) on the list below to continue hopping.

You Are Loved

posted in: Cards, Other | 0

Wow!  It’s Tuesday already?  Where did the week go?  Honestly, I’m having so much fun now that I’m a Crazy Crafter, I think the time goes by twice as fast!😀

As some of you might already know I’ve just moved house, and also just recently joined Kylie Bertucci’s Crazy Crafters (best team ever!), so my feet haven’t had a chance to hit the ground.  But I’m loving it!

Missed It!

Anyway, on with today’s card.  Because of all the stuff I’ve had going on with the move, I missed last week’s Global Design Project challenge, which was a colour challenge.  This was the card I was going to enter, but it never quite made it.  I wanted to share it with you today anyway.

Design on a Whimsy

Sometimes the design process begins with a single thought or idea and grows from there.  This is very much my “normal” creative process.  I know, weird huh?  I think if the process were any more mechanical than that, I would feel “cheated” out of that creative spark.  I adore these colours together – cool greys and warm sunny yellow are a perfect match and complement each other extremely well.

When I was thinking about what card to make the yellow kept saying “flower” to me, so that was decided.  But grey flowers…?!  Why not?  Cards are meant to be whimsical and artistic, so they don’t have to be true to reality.  So I grabbed a few punches and went to town.  Of course you can’t have a spray of flowers without some splats and Gorgeous Grunge got a workout in all three colours.

Because this card was already a bit “over the top” in the flower department, I decided to go the whole hog and totally bling it up!  Small, medium and large Basic Rhinestones and Iced Rhinestones all over – what fun!  I think it turned out quite lovely in the end, and the sentiment from Grateful Bunch stamp set gives this card a sweet feel, don’t you agree?

Grateful Bunch Bundle imgThe Grateful Bunch stamp set (photopolymer) and Blossom Bunch punch are available as a bundle (saving you 15%) from now only until the end of March, after which time the catalogue ends.  So if you really, really need them, better get in quick!  Click on the image above to purchase.

Thanks for stopping by today.

You’re the Best for GDP026

posted in: Cards, Other | 18

Over at the Global Design Project this week, the talented Teneale Williams has challenged us with a sketch:

I love Teneale’s sketches (thanks Teneale!).  They’re always stylish and mostly CAS, although you can make it your own.  I usually stay pretty true to them though, and today’s card is pretty close; I’ve only substituted the heart for another image.  Here’s my card for this weeks Global Design Project challenge:

When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to incorporate a technique I haven’t used in a while – kissing.  I’ve used the lovely leaf/swirl image from the I Think You’re Great stamp set in Pink Pirouette and “kissed” it to a solid flower stamp image from the Flower Patch stamp set inked with Bermuda Bay.  I love the effect you get with this technique.

The sentiment is from the Sunburst Saying stamp set, white heat embossed on Basic Black.  The striped DSP from the Neutrals Collection DSP Stack frames the image and completes the card.

I stamped the same solid flower image inside the card in Pink Pirouette.  I think I’m getting better at the CAS thing!

To see all the amazing projects this week, click on the GDP image above.  Thanks for stopping by today.

UPDATE: I’m excited to tell you that this card was a GDP challenge winner! I’m so honoured to be selected by my peers. Thank you to the fabulous Design Team who keep the challenges coming each week, and a huge thank you to all who participate each week, without which the GDP would not exist. You all provide me with endless inspiration and friendship!
