Crazy Crafters’ Blog Hop with Lisa Curcio

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters’ Blog Hop with special guest Lisa Curcio. Lisa lives in Florida, USA and has been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for 18 years. She was ranked number 39 in the Global Top 100 Demonstrators this year! Congratulations Lisa!! She is also very active with the Stampin’ Up! sponsored Ronald McDonald House Charity in her local area. Our team is very excited to be hopping with her today. You can check out Cindy’s blog by clicking on her picture.

We are each CASEing (Copying and Selectively Editing) one of Lisa’s designs today. I chose to CASE the card below. I was intrigued with the “separated V-cut” design and loved the huge WOW factor despite it’s simplicity.

My card uses the Greetings from Santa Stamp Set from the Holiday Catalogue. Here’s a closer look at the Stamp Set images:

Greetings from Santa Stamp Set. Images © Stampin’ Up!

I chose Emerald Envy cardstock and paired it with some Designer Series Paper from the Presents & Pinecones pack. I thought it would be fun to change up the fancy cut used by Lisa on her card. I started with a piece of DSP half a centimetre narrower and shorter than the white panel, die cut a circle from the centre and then cut “channels” at random angles, just making sure that they were even in width.

I split the naughty or nice image http://www.honeytraveler.com/pharmacy/ across the three spaces left by my fancy cut. The snowflake cluster image and the Santa’s list image were then added and the two DSP panels were mounted onto the white panel using Foam Adhesive Strips. Some silver sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment scattered across the front and another Santa’s list image stamped inside completed this card.

TIPS: 1. When adhering raised panels (particularly when using DSP), ensure you add enough Foam Adhesive Strip in the centre of the panels to prevent them from “sagging” in the middle. 2. To stamp part of an image as in this card example, use Stampin’ Write Markers to colour only the part you want to use.

Just a reminder that the products from the new Occasions Catalogue will be available to order from January 4, 2017. If you live in Australia and you’d like one, you can order your copy here. If you can’t wait that long to order from the catalogue, you can join, purchase them on December 1, and get 20% discount.

To continue along the hop, select the person next on the list after me, Gail Davidson, to see all the gorgeous creations from Lisa and the rest of the Crazy Crafters. But before you go, if you like my design, I’d love it if you could take the time to leave a comment to let me know!

Cookie Cutter Christmas for WWYS #93

I created a chevron pattern for my card front by using strips of the diagonal striped paper from the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper pack. The little gingerbread man, stamped in Crumb Cake is peeping out of the jar (from the Jar of Love Stamp Set). Yes, I had to chop his little arms off! But doesn’t he look adorable?! The other sweets in the jar were fussy cut from another design in the Candy Cane Lane DSP pack. The twine around the neck of the jar is also from the Candy Cane Lane suite of products. The jar lid is Silver Foil stamped with black Stazon.

cookie-cutter-christmas-3

The sentiment was white heat embossed onto a strip of Basic Black cardstock. The inside of the card was finished with the  gingerbread man peeking in from the corner and some more fussy cut sweets. I really had so much fun making this card; I think there will be a lot of friends receiving Cookie Cutter Christmas cards this year!

Star of Light for WWYS #92

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Star of Light Stamp Set. It’s so easy to achieve a WOW effect with this set. I love the intricate designs of the images and the sentiments come in the most gorgeous fonts. Here’s the stamp set pic:

You can purchase the stamp set and coordinating dies as a bundle and save 10%.

Item #143508 – Star Of Light Photopolymer Bundle: Star of Light Stamp Set and Starlight Thinlits Dies.

I chose Night of Navy, Whisper White and Silver Foil for my card. They look so classically elegant together. And that swirl image is so pretty in real life! I backed the foil star and the sentiment with Silver Glimmer Paper.
star-of-light-1
TIP: When cutting foil, make sure your top cutting plate is relatively new otherwise it will leave indentations in the finished die-cut. Also, use a die brush to remove the die-cut to prevent damage.

I decorated the inside of the card with a little sponging in Night of Navy to emulate the night sky and some silver embossed stars. Both sentiments were clear embossed over Night of Navy ink.

cindy-schuster-header

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters’ Blog Hop with special guest Cindy Schuster. Cindy is a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from  Georgia, USA and a current Artisan Team Member. And it’s clear to see why Cindy was chosen to be an Artisan – her designs are unique and beautiful. Our team is very excited to be hopping with her today. You can check out Cindy’s blog by clicking on her picture.

cindy-profile-pic

We are each CASEing (Copying and Selectively Editing) one of Cindy’s designs today. I chose the trio of cards below. I love how Cindy has showcased Stampin’ Up!’s gorgeous Designer Series Paper, and these are just so sweet with their ribbons, trims and doilies backing the focal image.
cindys-cards

For my notecard sized trio I used a Hostess set and DSP from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalogue – Iconic Occasions Stamp Set and Party Animal DSP. I’ve also highlighted the Stitched Shapes Framelits which have been released ahead of next year’s Annual Catalogue and only available until November 30, so you have only 4 days left to grab them!
iconic-occasions-1

Iconic Occasions Stamp Set comes with 10 cute little images and coordinating sentiments for different occasions. I also decorated the envelope flaps with the matching DSP for each card.
iconic-occasions-2

My first card features the 2015-2017 In Colour Doilies. You can use the reverse side like I’ve done here if you want a white one. I’ve also used the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits.
iconic-occasions-3

For this card I’ve used a few different images and circled the “correct” one in red. You could make a card with all 10 images and circle the one that matches the sentiment you use – such a fun set! This card also uses the Delicate White Doilies and some Mint Macaron ribbon from the trio pack in the Holiday Catalogue.
iconic-occasions-4

For card #3 I’ve stamped the bandaid image onto the spotted DSP and used some Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon and some of the matching metallic thread from the Holiday Catalogue. So lush – I love these!

The products from the new Occasions Catalogue will be available to order from January 4, 2017. If you can’t wait that long, you can join, purchase them on December 1, and get 20% discount.

International Project Highlights – Love Theme

header

Welcome to our International Visual Blog Hop using current Stampin’ Up!® Products. We have all created this gallery of projects for you to be inspired by! We would love it if you could visit every one of our blogs and see a close up of our projects. Our theme this month is LOVE because as card makers we love spreading the love. You can see the gallery below and this will be on every blog that you click on so you will never be lost.

How many ways are there to say “I love you”? Well, there are lots, as you’ll see in the gallery below. Click on the images to go to each blog. You won’t want to miss any!

My CAS card uses the Crazy About You Stamp Set and two die sets – the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies from the Annual Catalogue and a brand new one I know you’re gonna love from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalogue, called Love Notes Framelits Dies.

By the way, if you don’t already have the Occasions Catalogue, you can order yours here. It starts on 4 January 2017 and I’ll be sending them out from December 1.

Back to my card. I die cut the heart and arrow from the Love Notes dies and the “love” from the Sunshine Wishes dies. I cut the arrow in half and adhered it to look as though it is piercing the heart and added a gold foil tip. The sentiment was layered up (5 layers) to add dimension, and both the heart and sentiment were slathered with my fine-tip glue to give a glossy finish. I also white heat embossed the “you” from the Crazy About You set onto Basic Black cardstock and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This was a really fun card to make. If you like it, please make my day and leave a comment and let me know. The Love Notes Framelits Dies will be available from 4 January 2017, but if you want them earlier you can join my team and get them on December 1st! You can purchase the other supplies I used by clicking here or on the Shop button at the end of this post and entering the current Host Code – SVTUHTJ2 – when you get to the checkout page.

Teeny Tiny Sentiments for WWYS #91

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set. I have always adored this set. It has so many cute greetings for many different occasions. I’ve used two in today’s project. Here’s the stamp set pic:

91-teeny-tiny-sentiments
Note: The stamp set varies by name and content depending on where you are. In Australia, it’s called Teeny Tiny Sentiments and doesn’t have the Thanksgiving and Halloween greetings; in the US it’s called Teeny Tiny Wishes and doesn’t include the greetings “miss you so much” and “congratulations”.

I paired the sweet little sentiments with the Fancy Frost Suite from the Holiday Catalogue, using Sweet Sugarplum, Soft Sky and Whisper White – non-traditional Christmas colours. I love that!

teeny-tiny-sentiments-1

TIP: You can change the look of an image by selectively colouring parts with Stampin’ Write Markers. In the medallion image on the card, I inked up the image using a Soft Sky ink pad then used my Sweet Sugarplum marker to colour the centre flower and some of the “leaves”.

The box was made with the Popcorn Box Thinlits (it’s not just for popcorn!) and the tag is from the Merry Tags Framelits Dies. I also added some mini jingle bells – they’re so adorable!

teeny-tiny-sentiments-3

The falling snow image used on both the box and the card is from the Merriest Wishes Stamps Set. Using the same stamps on both pieces ties them together. I also added the smallest stitched die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to back the sentiment. These projects were quick and easy and so much fun to make!

Paisleys & Posies Gift Set for WWYS #90

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set. I fell in love with this set the moment I clapped eyes on it. The designs are gorgeous and the colour possibilities are endless. Here’s the stamp set pic:

90-paisleys-posies

I knew I wanted to use black and copper for this project as I think they are a real WOW together, and I also decided to make a matching gift box, not for any other reason than I wanted to make THAT gorgeous flower from the matching Paisleys Framelits Dies! It would have been too much on the card but I think you’ll agree it’s stunning on the gift box.

paisleys-posies-1

TIP: Matching pieces don’t always have to be exactly the same. Here, I’ve reversed the colours on the box but it still matches the card perfectly.

And here’s a close-up of that flower! How gorgeous is it?!

Crazy Crafters’ Blog Hop with Special Guest Amy Koenders

amy-koenders-header

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters’ Blog Hop with special guest Amy Koenders. Amy is an extremely talented paper crafter from Georgia, Atlanta in the USA and our team is very excited to be hopping with her today. You can check out Amy’s blog by clicking on her picture.

amy-koenders

We are each CASEing (Copying and Selectively Editing) one of Amy’s designs today. I chose the card below. I love the simple, elegant style of Amy’s card, and the little geometric strip peeping out below the banner. I took that idea, and the three panels to make my card.
amys-card

I chose a blue/green colour palette and cut a bunch of the strip die-cut from the Flourish Thinlits Dies in Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point. Don’t they look gorgeous together? I adhered two each to panels in the same colours.
flourish-thinlits-card-1

The sentiment is a sneak peek of a new item from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue – Suite Sentiments Stamp Set. I’m telling you, you NEED this set! It has so many gorgeous sentiments in the most adorable fonts! I used my markers to create an ombre effect. I used the brand new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to crop the sentiment and then adhered it to a layer of Mint Macaron using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. I just love how these dies all layer together. I offset the layering to add interest, and added some hearts from the Brights Enamel Shapes pack in Pacific Point. This image also shows the Wink of Stella I added to the die-cuts – so sparkly!
flourish-thinlits-card-3

I added some Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon and finished the inside off with another of the die-cuts.

Totally Trees (Without the Trees) Card for WWYS #88

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge using the Totally Trees Stamp Set. You may notice however, my card has no trees! Those of you who follow my blog know that I like to discover different ways to use stamp sets, so my main goal with this stamp set was not to use any tree images to show it’s versatility. Here’s the stamp set pic:

88-totally-trees I’ve used a technique I call ink blending (if there is another name for it, please let me know!). I just half-mixed some different colours on an acrylic block and used it to ink my stamp up. I love the effect and the possibilities are endless! The sentiment comes from the Badges & Banners Stamp Set (cropped using the Best Badge Punch) and suits the fun style of this card.

totally-trees-card-1

TIP: For a quick and easy accent, use narrow strips of cardstock. I’ve used one top and bottom here to add extra interest.

And I decorated the inside with the little image that looks like a group of bubbles.
