Label Me Pretty Cookie Pouch for WWYS #126

Don’t you just love a quick and easy project – and one that contains yummy stuff?! This week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge project is just that. The stamp set we’re showcasing this week is Label Me Pretty. I’ve seen these pouches all over the place (there’s even one in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue on page 30), so I thought it was about time I made one. And the Label Me Pretty stamp set is perfect for it.

I’m not usually one for adding a lot of embellishments, but this project could take it, and I had so much fun! And there’s so much scope for mixing and matching with Stampin’ Up! products. 🙂

I chose a sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Pick a Pattern pack because the checks are kind of “country kitchen” and it had mushrooms (food) on it.

So I added to the country feel with some Burlap Ribbon, Linen Thread and a couple of hearts.

Cool Treats Sweet Friend Birthday Card for WWYS #125

Hi and welcome to this week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge. The stamp set were using this week is the Cool Treats. Yes I know it’s winter Down Under, but you can enjoy ice-creams all year round. This is a really fun set, and I went with bright and cheery gelato colours for my card this week.

Daisy “Delight”-ful Thank You Card for WWYS #124

Hi and welcome to this week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge. The stamp set were using this week is the delightful Daisy Delight. Who doesn’t love daisies, right? I just adore this whole suite, and as you can see I’ve used some of the beautiful Designer Series Paper in my card project this week too.

I’ve actually CASEd a card I made back in February this year using the Succulent Garden Suite; I loved it that much I decided to recreate it with Daisy Delight.

I added a gorgeous dimensional punched daisy to the inside of my card and stamped it on the envelope flap as well. Accents were added using some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment – another of my favourite products – they’re just beautiful.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Watercoloured Background Birthday Card for WWYS #123

Hi and welcome to this week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge. The stamp set were using this week is fabulous – Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I just love the delicate two-step flowers and the font of the sentiments.

I got my inspiration for this week’s card from the talented Kristine Werner who did a similar card a while back. The solid flower images are stamped using the “rock and roll” technique and then using either a paint brush or aqua painter to pull the colour into the flower centre.

The leaves were stamped and the colour pulled into the centre of the image as well. I then added a second colour to the leaves. The background is Sahara Sand and Island Indigo, dried with a heat tool between each application.

The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the card is finished off with Wink of Stella on the flowers and a smattering of Glitter Enamel Dots.

Banners for You Congrats Card for WWYS #122

Hello and welcome to this week’s Challenge at What Will You Stamp? This week we’re playing with Banners for You. I needed a congrats card this week as my daughter and her boyfriend are celebrating their 1st “anniversary” of being together. This stamp set lends itself to so many occasions. Here’s the card I made for them.

I used the “black magic” technique for my card. Starting with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the flower images and then stamped over them with Versamark and clear heat embossed, then stamped the “donut” image in Versamark and clear heat embossed them as well. This is where the magic happens. I used my Archival black ink pad and covered the entire panel with ink. The heat embossed areas resist the black ink and you end up with a very unique look.

I’ve used Lemon Lime Twist cardstock as a contrast (hands up if you love this colour as much as I do!). I stamped the donut image again around the edges of the LLT panel in Versamark to give a subtle watermark effect. All that was left was to bling it up and I did that by adding some of the gorgeous new Glitter Enamel Dots.

Tropical Panorama Using Seaside Shore for WWYS #121

Hello and welcome to this week’s Challenge at What Will You Stamp? This week we’re playing with Seaside Shore. What a fun set this is! I had a ball creating what I’m calling my “tropical panorama”.

I went all out and created a net for my little fish. Aren’t they adorable? I also got to test out an exciting new product – Stampin’ Up! now has embossing paste! Woohoo! It’s really fun and just what I needed for my “sand”.

Here’s a couple of close-ups:

TIP: To make flowers (or in this case, fish) look puffy and more 3D, turn them face down on your Stampin’ Pierce Mat and use an embossing tool like the one that comes with the scoreboard, or as I did here, the top of my Piercing Tool. Rub in a gentle circular motion until you’re happy with the result.

Badges and Banners Baby Card for WWYS #120

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge. The stamp set we’re highlighting this week is Badges and Banners. For some reason, it took me a while to decide what to design with this set, although it does lend itself to a quick and easy kind of card. I decided on a baby card (because they’re good to have on hand) so started with the cute birdcage image and “welcome, baby” banner image. I was also itching to use some of the gorgeous new Colour Theory paper, so these three elements were my jumping off point.

I added that beautiful die-cut from the Flourish Thinlits set to give my birdcage something to hang from. I ink blended some watercolour paper with Berry Burst (the same colour as the Designer Series Paper) before cutting it (3 in Whisper White plus the watercoloured layer) and stacked it – such a cool effect!

The birdcage was stamped with Versamark, embossed in gold, as was the sentiment. I punched this out using the Duet Banner Punch, and, because it punches both banners at once, I decided to apply Versamark to the larger banner and covered it in gold embossing powder too and layered it underneath the sentiment. I used my Berry Burst marker to add detail to the sentiment and along the bottom of the birdcage. Some clear Wink of Stella was applied to the birdcage and the flourish. The birdcage was attached to the flourish using Gold Metallic Thread before the top layer was adhered. The final touch was some gold ink (an old Encore ink pad I have in my stash) – simply daubed on with an old paint brush.

TIP: When working with “simple” images like the birdcage, try adding little finishing touches like the Berry Burst accents on this card. You’ll be surprised how it can dress up your design.

Pretty Kitty Card for WWYS #119

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge. This week we’re designing with the oh! so cute Pretty Kitty Stamp Set. I wanted to keep this card sweet and simple to match the kitty, so I chose a simple white background and embossed it with the Softly Falling embossing folder.

I added a shaker element, but again, I kept it soft and pretty with vellum and a simple white frame to disguise the double-sided foam tape underneath. I coloured the kitty with watercolour pencils, fussy cut it out and added it onto the shaker, which I filled with hearts in Flirty Flamingo and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper punched using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

The sentiment was punched with the Classic Label Punch and nestled at the bottom of the shaker. I added some clear Wink of Stella around the shaker frame to add a little somethin’ somethin’.

TIP: White embossing on white is a great way to create a classically elegant look.

Urban District Ink Blended Hexagons Card for WWYS #118

Hello and welcome to this week’s WWYS Challenge. I have to confess, this stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue has been sitting on my shelves unused until now. I wish I’d pulled it out sooner though because it’s a great set for Father’s Day, but for other occasions too. You can use it for masculine or feminine cards, to say “You’re the Best” or, as I’ve done here, to let someone know they’re “No. 1” in your books. By adding “friend” to this card you could give it to your bestie too. This set will be retiring on 31 May, so don’t hang around if you want it.

I chose Bermuda Bay, Marina Mist and Island Indigo to ink blend some hexagons (using a framelit from the coordinating dies in the suite). I used the bolt heads image and silver embossed over these and created a distressed look with water. This panel was offset mounted on a layer of Bermuda Bay which was “bolted” to a silver foil panel embossed using the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (say that six times fast!). I love the effect you get with this folder – it’s really tactile.

TIP: A simple way to add interest to images or a background is to drip or splatter water over the design then dab off with a paper towel. It’s a great technique to use on masculine cards where you don’t want to add bling.

The sentiment was simply stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut using the same die used to do the ink blending.

I continued the theme through to the inside and on the envelope to finish off.

Beetles & Bugs Card for WWYS #117

Hello and welcome to the WWYS Challenge. This week’s stamp set is from the Occasions Catalogue – Beetles & Bugs; sadly another set that will be retiring on 31 May. I you love it, grab it now! Now I know some people don’t like bugs at all, but how adorable are these?! And you can use them for all sorts of fun backgrounds as well as focal points like I’ve done with my card today. I have always loved ladybirds. Do you remember the rhyme “Ladybird, ladybird, fly away home …” from your childhood? For me it brings back sweet memories of warm days and carefree playtime surrounded by nature’s gifts.

I started with a card base of Crumb Cake, a layer of Basic Black, and my top layer of Shimmery White, onto which I watercoloured some bright summery colours (Delightful Dijon, Crushed Curry and Watermelon Wonder). A white heat embossed leaf from the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set provides a background for my lovely ladybirds which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and watercoloured with Real Red ink. And yes, I fussy cut them! I also added Fine-tip Glue Pen to their bodies to make them look round and shiny like in real-life. The sentiment (from Endless Thanks Stamp Set) was also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black directly onto the card front. Gold and clear sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment and a little of the Copper Trim (a new product from the soon-to-be-released Annual Catalogue) finishes it off beautifully.

TIP: Add dimension and shine with the fine-tip glue pen as I’ve done here with the ladybirds. Be careful though – it takes around 24 hours to dry completely!
